St. John HC - West has openings on 1037 acres of MLD property . Divided into 5 member sections of approximately 200 acres each. This is the west side of our club, separated by about 1/2 of a mile from the main portion, which is 3300 acres and archery equipment only. Would prefer archery only hunters but will consider taking on firearms hunters with certain restrictions. (Listed below) We border multiple other properties that are MLD with similar management practices. You Must feed a source of protein of at least 16% February 1 through August 31, in a free choice gravity style feeder. From September 1 through January 31, you must maintain at least one feeder of your choice and feed. Bucks must be at least 5.5 to harvest, unless a management or cull buck is identified by biologists for harvest . We maintain an APP with albums labeling bucks by age, name, shoot or don’t shoot, and whether they are a management or cull buck as well. Doe - rifle may be used from the start of season but archery equipment only after first weekend of January (don’t want someone accidentally shooting a buck who shed) Bucks - archery only except rifle allowed all of December Management/cull bucks: If management/cull bucks are identified and approved by the Biologist, they can be taken by rifle from December through the end of February. No Button Head Bucks !! (Nubbins) a club fine will be issued at the minimum, with possible removal from club after board vote Deer, hogs, and predators may be harvested. No turkey. Camp available a short distance down the road with electric and water for an additional fee.
